How to Save Fuel with Your Vending Truck
It seems that each and every time, there is a hike in the cost of fuel. This always affects vending operators. A vending operation always uses a vehicle to transport products from the base to the locations.
If you are running a business from your home, you would be using your personal vehicle; on the other hand if you are running your business from a warehouse, you will be using a vending truck since it is more spacious. A vending business that is based out of your home would be an established and most likely a medium sized or a large sized business. If you have a sizeable Planet Antares vending business, it means that you have probably hired route driver. A route driver can easily waste the fuel of a vending truck by using it for personal reasons. This would be an extra cost your vending business. This is just one fuel option that you can use in your vending business so that you can cut down on the amount of money you spend on fuel. A gallon of propane gas costs less than half the price of gasoline. There are about 500 depots located all across the country. Operators need to consider performance differences when looking at alternative fuels. Route drivers should practice the following:
• Keep tires properly inflated because under inflated tires can decrease fuel economy.
• Drive at a steady pace. Unnecessary speed-ups, slowdowns and stops can decrease fuel economy.
• Perform maintenance checks according to schedule.
• Avoid lengthy engine idling. Turn the engine off when you are delayed for more then a couple of minutes.
